The Fire Phoenix

As a representation of the Spirit of the Forest merged with Humanity, the Phoenix carries a potent presence. Inspired by Nature, the Fire Phoenix is completely unique in the world, a masterpiece of shamanic art crafted by various artists’ hands and hearts. As a bit of a shape-shifter, each time it has come to life, the audience has recognised a different elemental being: a Stag, a Tiger, a Fox and a Dragon to name a few. With 16 flames on the body, the visual delight is striking, the fire almost overwhelming and the dance a simple unfolding, a song of the heart.

As a distinctive creation, the Fire Stag took almost 3 years to come together with the input of many beautiful humans from all over the globe. Conceptualised by Selah, the design and leather work was masterfully crafted by Alicia Boshoff (Mystic Tribe – South Africa), the fire crown was made Sebastian Zimmermann (Fire and Flow – Germany), precisely adjusted and put together by Halen Ray (Pyrophernalia – Cape Town) and the antlers were gifted by a jolly old man in Nova Scotia, Canada.

The Forest Spirit exudes goodness and grace, wholeness and clarity, receptivity and aliveness, witnessing and prayer. It brings potency, wonder and joy to any ceremony, ritual or gathering. This performance offers an open-hearted presence to all who witness.
