For me, Embodiment is a practice of pure presence.
As one empties the Personality, so one becomes full to Self. When we open to presence, there is space to receive fully the spirit of creation particular to this time and place. By tapping into our awareness, we find there exists the entirety of Life within us.
We all have bodies and we are all embodied beings – everyone has the ability to tap into their own embodied knowing.
The practice of Embodiment is to trust what is coming through, to welcome it as as aspect of Self, to follow it as it shifts – and to let it go when it has expired. At its core, Embodiment is the outpouring of unique expression, through the body, as a gift to Life.
Embodiment has always been my therapy.
More recently, I have been exploring embodying many different aspects of Self. I have embodied archetypes; the planets; I have embodied the pain of the land; my angels and my demons; I have embodied my polarities; my joys and traumas; different aspects of the masculine and feminine; I have embodied different outcomes in the decision making process; I have embodied knowing, not knowing, and the unknowable. I am grateful to those who have come before me and have led me to this place.
My desire is for us to inhabit our bodies in their fullness and entirety. For all aspects of Self to co-create a home in the body, in our physical bodies and the Earth as our collective body. My prayer is that this home space is harmonious and fully alive, resonant in its unified heart song.
Embodiment emerges from our cells’ awareness of themselves. It is a direct experience. There are no intermediate steps or translations. There is no guide, no witness – just the fully known conciousness of the experienced moment initiated from the cells. Here, the brain is the last to know.It is an awareness process, not a thinking process. There is complete knowing and peaceful comprehension. Out of this embodiment process emerges feeling, sensing, thinking, witnessing, understanding and compassion. The source of this process is free; it is love. – Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen
